Our Story
Welcome to Tamilearn. The collection of short stories by Ramani and illustrations by Senthilkumaran.
Ramani has dedicated much of her life to teaching children and has drawn from her own life experiences to craft meaningful and playful stories.
Born and raised in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and displaced by the Civil War, she later became a part-time teacher in Singapore. Over the years, Ramani has not only guided the youngest learners in their day-to-day schoolwork, but she has also developed her own techniques for teaching Tamil to both non-Tamil and Tamil-speaking children, always with the same enthusiasm and passion she brought on her first day.
Having written these stories over the last few years, we have now published them, allowing other children to learn and help keep the Tamil language alive.
Kumaran, our in-house talented cartoonist, has hand-drawn the illustrations that accompany Ramani's stories. His cartoons add a fun and quirky touch, making the stories even more engaging. The flashcards he illustrated were a staple in our home growing up and in the homes of many families here in Singapore.
We hope you enjoy these stories and our humble bundle of resources, and find them easy to share with your children, no matter where they are in their educational journey.

The stories in this book are simple and easy to understand, language is suitable for children and the illustrations are colourful and attractive helping children stay engaged in the stories. The morals and values are introduced gently and in a way children can easily udnerstand. It is a lovely Tamil storybook.
